La Goya Manzanilla

We spent last week in Melbourne, and on our last night we found the most amazing Spanish restaurant called Movida. Everything was amazing, but one thing really caught me off guard. The spanish sherry called Manzanilla(read all about it here), and specifically this one, La Goya.

It is very very dry, and almost has an earthy, nutty flavour. The way it was described to me was, “you get a bit of sea salt flavour, because it comes off the ocean in the town where they make it” or something similar. It was definitely one of the most interesting wines I’ve ever had. I don’t think it’s everyone’s cup of tea, but if you are open to new things, you should definitely give this a try.
